In the future we are hoping to take part in mock interviews for young people finishing school.As part of this, we agreed to partner with Sir Simon Milton UTC (University Technical College). Sir Simon Milton UTC describes itself as being ‘for high achievers’ and is based in Westminster. It opened in September 2017, in time for the new academic year. In its prospectus, it is described as a college that aims to educate the young women and men who will become the next generation of professional engineers, technicians and innovators.Group SCS partnered with Sir Simon Milton UTC for two years (starting September 2017) on a construction-related educational programme. The partnership was developed to address the lack of young talent in the industry. Our partnering was part of the Class Of Your Own (COYO) ‘Adopt A School’ scheme in which industry members such as Group SCS ‘gift’ the ‘Design, Engineer, Construct!’ Learning programme to schools across the UK.We are a firm believer in apprenticeships and have helped people kickstart their careers in the construction industry through apprenticeship schemes.
